SPECIAL CLASSES |
| |
HANVEY ENGINEERING’S “FIRST TIMER COMPETITION” |
Competition is open to anyone who has never competed, with the exception of “Oster Career Start,”
and must be entered in the Entry Level Competition. The “Regular” Class Judge chooses 3 placements
from all of the Entry Level entries, who are then eligible for “Group Placement” and possibly “Best In
Show.” The Judge then chooses one placement from “First Timer” entries only. This winner is eligible
for the Best “First Timer” Competition and must return to the ring at the time awards are to be presented.
To be eligible, you must mark “1st Timer” on the registration form. |
| |
CREATIVE STYLING CHALLENGE |
This competition showcases the collective creativity of pet stylists. Entries may be submitted on behalf
of an individual, salon, or team of pet stylists. Each participant who contributes to the grooming of the
entry must be registered as a Competitor and must pay contestant entry fee. Entries used for this class
must be pre-trimmed prior to class judging. Any Purebred or Mixed Breed dog(s) may be used.
Competitors will be allowed to set up in designated 5’x5’ areas 30 minutes prior to time stated for Judging
in the catalog schedule. Electrical outlets will be limited to one per entry.
Winners will be determined by: (1) originality and creativity of the design and theme, (2) quality of
styling techniques; and, (3) quality and harmony of the final presentation (props and decorations). To
encourage creativity, any style which has previously been entered at the All American Grooming Show
and placed will not be eligible. Creative entries from other shows are acceptable.
Competitors should provide titles for their designs on signs. Competitors may color their dogs, using
only non-toxic products, prior to arrival on site. Music may also be used in presentation to Judge. Due
to space allocations, class is limited to ten entries.
In addition to first, second, and third place, there will be an award for a Creative Styling entry by a
contestant who has never competed in Creative at any show. Finished groom must meet acceptable
standards. If the first time winner is also one of the three regular placements, that person can claim
both titles, but will only receive the higher of the two cash prizes.

| |
GLOBAL GROOMER COMPETITION |
There will be a special award for the Best Groomer from another country in the regular classes. To be
eligible for this competition, a groomer either must reside outside the U.S., or must have lived here less
than 4 months. The winner will be selected by the most total points as follows: 3 points for each Class
1st, 2 points for each Class 2nd, 1 point for each Class 3rd; Group placements will receive twice the
points of Class placements. If no one places, the Judge who went over each Global entry will then pick
the winner. |
| |
REGISTER EARLY OR YOU MAY BE
DISAPPOINTED! |
Registrations accepted until a maximum capacity of 35 per class is reached or until midnight August 1,
2008, CST. Please note that Creative Styling is limited to ten entries.
Confirmation of entry will be sent as quickly as possible. If you do not receive one before the closing
date, it is your responsibility to call us to confirm. |
| |
"COMPETITOR PERKS!” |
Competitors entering three (3) or more regular grooming classes will be allowed one free “Trade Show
Package” registration for an Assistant. Due to classroom space limitations, Assistants will not have
access to lectures. Assistants must be pre-registered or pay full price at the door!
Competitors entering three or more Regular Classes may have their "Door Prize Registration Forms"
validated by asking the Ring Steward to sign them. |
